Pediatric Dentistry Services We Offer

Dental Exams & Cleanings

Routine dental exams and cleanings set your child up for a lifetime of good oral health. During their visit, we will evaluate the growth and development of their teeth and make recommendations for any potential issues we notice. Our team ensures your child’s smile stays bright, healthy, and pain-free.

White Crowns and Fillings

White crowns and fillings can restore and protect your child’s teeth while preserving the natural beauty of their young smile. Our team uses the safest and most effective materials to ensure the greatest results for your child.

Laser Frenectomy

Children with ankyloglossia (tongue-tie) can receive fast, comfortable treatment at our pediatric dentist’s office in New Orleans, LA. Laser frenectomies are minimally invasive and deliver excellent results with minimal discomfort to the patient.

Interceptive Orthodontics

Children who show signs of early teeth and jaw misalignment are best treated with early care that prevents future developmental problems. Interceptive orthodontics correct issues with less invasive, tailored treatments that can give your child a lifetime of healthy smiles.

Sedation Dentistry

Many children are fearful of the dentist, and while we always take treatment at their own pace to reduce anxiety, we understand that some patients may benefit from the additional support of sedation dentistry. We offer safe, in-office IV sedation that helps nervous children relax and fall asleep during treatment — this may be ideal for those who need more extensive procedures.

Dr. John Sisney is our resident pediatric anesthesiologist. He is board-certified and has years of experience providing all types of anesthesia and sedation to adults and children. His specialization in pediatric anesthesiology ensures that your child is given the best care with hospital-grade medications, monitors, and equipment during their procedure.

OR/Hospital Dentistry

Some patients may have more advanced dental needs. In some cases, patients with special needs may be better suited to a hospital setting, as this environment has the most advanced tools, equipment, and support to ensure the best possible care.

Special Needs Dentistry

Children with special needs deserve a compassionate, knowledgeable dentist who can adapt their approach to their abilities and understanding. At NOLA Pediatric Dentistry, we welcome every child to our practice. Dr. Kris and the team provide personalized, quality care to each patient, ensuring a fun, stress-free experience for children and parents alike.

Pediatric Root Canal Therapy In New Orleans, LA

When you discover your child needs a root canal, it can feel stressful and overwhelming. Many adults are afraid of this procedure! Rest assured that we are highly skilled at treating children throughout this process.

Dr. Kris will remove the infected or decayed portion of an infected tooth, thoroughly clean the area, and fill it with a special material that prevents future infection. Our team has extensive experience treating pediatric patients requiring root canals, and we have all the necessary tools and equipment to ensure they remain comfortable throughout the procedure.

As a leader in healthcare and a nurse, I am familiar with these settings but having my 20 month old require a procedure with IV sedation was very anxiety provoking. Dr. Norbo’s team was phenomenal. Hands down the best pediatric dentist and staff we've ever had! My son (7yrs old) is on the spectrum. And would never sit through an exam with other dentist offices. And also wouldn't let anyone beside me and dad near his teeth. Until we visited Children's Dental Cottage in June 2024. They we're able to take ex rays, proper cleaning and polishing of his teeth. They we're awesome with him and I really appreciate them for the care of my son. I was so impressed I switched my other child over! Thank you you guys rock!!!
Response from the owner:We are happy to hear that your son had a positive experience at Children's Dental Cottage! Thank you for trusting us with his dental care. We look forward to continuing to provide excellent service for your family.

Understanding Pediatric Dental Care

Pediatric dental care focuses on the unique dental needs of children from infancy through their teenage years. This specialized area of dentistry is essential for ensuring that children develop healthy dental habits and receive appropriate treatments as their teeth and jaws grow.

Regular visits to a pediatric dentist help monitor a child's oral health, providing preventive care such as fluoride treatments and sealants. These services are crucial in preventing cavities and other dental issues, setting the foundation for a lifetime of good dental health.

Importance of Preventive Dentistry for Kids

Preventive dentistry plays a vital role in maintaining children's oral health, emphasizing the importance of regular check-ups and cleanings. By focusing on prevention, pediatric dentists can identify potential problems early and provide guidance on proper oral hygiene practices.

For instance, teaching children about brushing and flossing techniques, along with the significance of a balanced diet, can significantly reduce the risk of cavities and gum disease. Preventive measures not only save time and money but also help instill lifelong healthy habits in young patients.

Hearing from other parents and their experiences can greatly influence new patients considering NOLA Pediatric Dentistry. Testimonials highlight the practice's commitment to creating a positive and stress-free dental experience for children, showcasing the effectiveness of their approach.
